Currently played by Tituss Burgess through next month, the character of Harold Zidler is the owner of the Moulin Rouge night club. The production is the second night club-themed musical Boy George has been a part of. His last stint on Broadway, which was over 20 years ago, was Taboo.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical – based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film – is directed by Alex Timbers, with a book by John Logan. It features a wide array of pop hits like “Single Ladies,” “Every Breath You Take,” and, of course, “Lady Marmalade.” Moulin Rouge! The Musical has been playing at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, and you can get tickets here.
As for other Boy George news, the singer recently wrapped up a tour with Culture Club. Their last album was 2018’s Life, their first studio LP in nearly 20 years. Boy George also published an autobiography this year called Karma.
