Experimental hip-hop group Death Grips have confirmed they are working on a new album. The project will be their first LP since 2018's Year of the Snitch.
“The Writing and recording of our next album is underway,” Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett and Zach Hill shared on Instagram, along with a carousel of photos from the recording studio. “We’re looking forward to the new Death Grips record.”

Although Death Grips have not released an album in a while, they haven't been completely stagnant. The band toured in 2023, and, this past April, resurfaced with an Instagram post to confirm they were still together. "Despite rumor and hearsay, we remain active as Death Grips," read a message marked upon a picture frame in the photo.
The note came after seemingly now-former member Andy Morin suggested privately that the project ended. The idea of a breakup (or fake breakup) is not foreign to Death Grips fans, as they split in 2014, but never really stopped making music. (Both Fashion Week and The Powers That B arrived in 2015.)
Since the last Death Grips album, member Zach Hill launched a band called Undo K From Hot. He also reissued the Hella album Hold Your Horse Is in 2023. And, just last week, he and the Australian experimental musician Lucas Abela released an album titled Bag of Max Bag of Cass.
