To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, there will be a three-day livestream taking place April 22-24 that will feature a star-studded lineup of activists, performers, thought leaders, and artists.
The event, dubbed Earth Day Live, was organized by youth climate activists and will feature conversations with leading scientists and journalists about the climate crisis. Participants include Joaquin Phoenix, Moby, Patricia Arquette, Jane Fonda, Robby Romero, Al Gore, and Stacey Abrams. Also, there will be musical performances by Jason Mraz, Angélique Kidjo, Emily Wells, Aimee Mann, Ted Leo, Jack Johnson, Questlove, Talib Kweli, Beverly Bond, Madame Gandhi, Soul Clap, and more.
The event will be broken into 3 different themed days: Strike (April 22), Divest (April 23), and Vote (April 24).
In a statement, event organizers said, “In the midst of a global pandemic, Earth Day Live aims to spur collective action to protect our communities and our planet, through performances, conversations and training sessions curated by climate activists.”
Earth Day Live will be live from 9am to 9pm ET on April 22, 23, and 24. The livestream will be available on www.earthdaylive2020.org, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Twitch.
