Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is A Bowl of Soul A Mixed Stew of Soul Music! Terry Ferguson, aka Professor T-Love, recently answered a few questions we had, including the station's setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and some of the station's biggest hits. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
The ability to broadcast soul music to the world!
What's your studio like?
I use ZaraStudio's radio DJ software, Focus MP3 Recorder Pro to record broadcast, and butt (broadcast using this tool) to broadcast live on Live365. My microphone and Headset are from Plantronics. The VB-Audio Voicemeeter mixer is used for professional sound quality.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
When listeners tune in they can expect round-the-clock Soul Music. My show, A Bowl of Soul A Mixed Stew of Soul Music, is where I give history on the music and artists who make R&B music from 1949 to the present. There's another talk show called Love, Sex and Relationships with my co-host The Professor (Valerie Montoute) in which we discuss how to have better relationships, whether married or single, for both the heterosexual and LGBTQ communities.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
The ability to be a program director and producer of my own station has been incredible. It's something that I have always wanted to do.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
The best concert I attended was when I went to see the legendary R&B group, The O'Jays. They are true professionals, soulful and still exhilarating to watch on stage.
We asked Professor T-Love for some of the station's most played songs. He gave the following list:
- "This Feeling's Killing Me" by The Jones Girls
- "I Remember" by The Sylvers
- "Get You" by Daniel Caesar featuring Kali Uchis
- "Hurry Up This Way Again" by The Stylistics
- "Best Day Ever" by Andy Stokes
