On Thursday, January 30, a show at Inglewood's Intuit Dome will take place to raise money for those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
The concert will be called FireAid, and a lineup for the event has yet to be announced. Proceeds for the event will go to a 501(c)(3) with the purpose of “rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families, and advancing fire prevention technologies and strategies to ensure LA is better prepared for fire emergencies,” says a press release.
The concert is produced by Shelli, Irving, and the Azoff Family, in conjunction with Live Nation and AEG Presents. You can sign up to receive information about tickets and donations here.
In the wake of the horrific fires, several musicians and their families have been forced to evacuate their homes. The list includes Mandy Moore, Foo Fighters' Chris Shiflett, Diiv’s Zachary Cole Smith, Tim Darcy, Fat Tony, and Empress Of’s Lorely Rodriguez. Speedy Ortiz and Sad13’s Sadie Dupuis have posted a link to a spreadsheet of “music industry folks who have lost their homes to the fires.” The spreadsheet includes GoFundMe pages and other requests from music industry people who need help.
Additionally, the Recording Academy and MusiCares have announced they are pledging $1 million to support artists and music industry professionals impacted by the ongoing wildfires. For further evacuation updates, please consult the Los Angeles County emergency page.
