After their breakout year of 2023, the three members of Boygenius (Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus) spent 2024 laying relatively low. But you may have seen social media ads or internet buzz about Lucy Dacus' upcoming solo album – her first since 2021’s acclaimed Home Video. Her fourth full-length effort, Forever Is a Feeling, will be released March 28 and will be the first solo album released by a Boygenius member since The Record.
The first video promoting the project, for the single “Ankles,” was released January 15. It has Dacus creating some minor havoc on the streets and subways of Paris, accompanied by actor-model Havana Rose Lui.

Forever Is a Feeling will feature an all-star guest list, with the other two members of Boygenius, along with Hozier, Madison Cunningham, Blake Mills, Bartees Strange, Jake Finch, Collin Pastore, and Melina Duderte.
A press release for the forthcoming release promises that “the lushness of the album’s sound is matched by a new frankness in Dacus’s approach to sexuality and romance."
“I got kicked in the head with emotions,” Dacus says in the same press release, describing writing the LP's songs throughout 2022-24. “Falling in love, falling out of love… You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life.”
Lucy Dacus will also go on a monthlong tour in April and May to support the record. The 13-city trek will begin April 16 in Philadelphia and wrap up May 14 in Los Angeles. Other stops include New York City, Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, and Denver.
Katie Gavin, the lead singer of Muna, will open the shows, along with Jasmine.4.t. Presale began yesterday, January 21, and the official public on-sale is January 24. A sign-up for presale ticket access begins today at lucydac.us.
The 13 dates in April and May follow on the heels of four shows Dacus had already announced and sold out for February, which are at more intimate locations and billed as “An Evening With Lucy Dacus.” It’s expected she will be premiering new material there, ahead of the album's release.
As for other Boygenius news, Julien Baker is expected to come back out of the gate soon with a full-length country-inspried album recorded as a collaboration with Torres. Phoebe Bridgers has not yet released or announced any new music.
