Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn are the subject of a new Lifetime movie that is set to be released this October. Patsy & Loretta will be a fictionalized account of the country legends' close friendship as they entered super-stardom.
With Megan Hilty (The Good Wife, 9 to 5: The Musical) depicting Cline and Jessie Mueller (Waitress, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) depicting Lynn, the film will follow Cline's support of Lynn when she was breaking her way into the male-dominated music industry.
“Patsy Cline is one of the closest girlfriends I’ve ever had,” Lynn recently said on Facebook. “We would have never imagined they’d make a movie about us…I can’t wait to watch it!”
Callie Khouri (Nashville) will direct the film with Lynn’s daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell, and Patsy Cline’s daughter, Julie Fudge, serving as co-producers. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the movie was filmed in Nashville as well as in Winchester, VA, Cline’s hometown.
