Previously, there was a mural in Selena's Texas neighborhood where she lived that had her portrait and the words "Always in our Hearts." Since that mural was showing signs of wear, a new Selena mural has been painted to take its place and was recently unveiled.
The new mural was unveiled in Corpus Christi's Molina neighborhood this week and has three watercolor images of the late singer.
The original mural was done by some students and art teacher Dicky Valdez shortly after Selena's death. The new mural was created by New York artist San Singuenza and was paid for by Selena's relatives.
Now, the mural reads, "The goal isn't to live forever but to create something that will."
