Olivia Rodrigo Shares Details of Third Studio Album

For weeks, city dwellers have been keeping their eyes on a mural wall in Los Angeles tied to Olivia Rodrigo. This morning (April 2), the words “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” appeared on the pink display located at the corner of Melrose and Sycamore Avenue. Turns out, it's the title of Olivia Rodrigo’s new album: You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love

The LP is set to drop June 12. For her follow-up to 2023’s Guts, Rodrigo reunited with producer Dan Nigro, who also worked on her 2021 debut Sour

Additionally, Rodrigo has shared the cover art for the album. It depicts her mid-air on a swing set, laughing and wearing a doll-like baby pink dress while upside-down.

"No matter how hard I try to write love songs they always come out laced with a little melancholy,” Rodrigo wrote in a message in her fan newsletter. “I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Guts was led by the singles “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” Rodrigo toured the album with support from the Breeders, and also headlined various music festivals. She eventually released a deluxe edition of her sophomore effort, as well as a a concert film that is available to stream on Netflix.

In other Olivia-related news: David Byrne released his own cover of her breakout hit "Drivers License" earlier this year. He previously sang “Burning Down the House” with Rodrigo at her 2025 Governors Ball set.
