Up-and-coming songstress RAYE and nine-time Grammy Award-winning producer Mark Ronson have joined forces for a funky single called “Suzanne.”
The collab marks the first time the two British artists have worked together on new music. Forbes describes the song as "a blend of jazz club instrumentals and a poolside pop sensibility." With a message that's just in time for Pride Month, RAYE sings about her budding love for a warm, green-nailed woman on the track. "Suzanne, I would love to hold you if I can / Suzanne, Suzanne / If you'd allow my left arm and my right arm to collide inside the small of your back / Just like that (I do)," she wails.

The summertime bop was released in celebration of watch brand Audemars Piguet’s 150th anniversary. The song is part of the watchmaker’s AP x Music program, anchored by ventures like Ronson’s ongoing “Syncing Sounds” series.
“I’ve admired RAYE’s artistry for years now, watching her evolution from songwriter to the powerhouse artist she’s become," Mark Ronson told Hot Press. "When Audemars Piguet brought us together through their APxMusic program, it felt like the stars aligning at exactly the right moment".
“This collaboration isn’t just another project," he continued, "it’s something we’ve poured ourselves into completely…all night tracking sessions in London, New York and Los Angeles. The music we’ve created together carries both our musical DNA but takes us somewhere neither of us would have reached alone".
Speaking about the track, RAYE added: “Everything about how this song came to exist, and this moment with Mark and AP, feels meant to be. I used to work in Mark Ronson’s London studio when I was a baby artist focusing on my songwriting craft, and always dreamed of the day I could one day work with the musical genius that is Ronson...From the feeling in my heart that the song should be called ‘Suzanne’ within minutes of hearing the music Mark created, to learning of Suzanne Audemars and the joy I feel in my bones whenever I play this song in my headphones, the overwhelming consensus of emotions is gratitude and pride."
"Suzanne" also comes with a brand new music video. Directed by Theodor Guelat, it shows the two artists hard at work creating the song in a studio setting. There's also some delightful shots of RAYE and Ronson strolling through streets across London.
RAYE recently took the stage at Bonnaroo Festival and will continue to perform at various music festivals across Europe this summer. (You can find tickets on her official website.) As for Mark Ronson - the producer has stayed away from the spotlight in recent years, but notably released a memoir back in 2022 about his early DJ days.
