Sabrina Carpenter was the musical guest on last weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Jake Gyllenhaal. The pop princess gave her first performance on the late-night sketch show, and even acted in a sketch herself.
Sabrina used the SNL opportunity to perform her new hit single “Espresso” for the crowd. In another set, she did a medley merging her songs “Feather” and “Nonsense” – both of which appear on her 2022 deluxe album, Emails I Can’t Send Fwd:. In true Sabrina Carpenter fashion, she also crafted a special "Nonsense" outro for Saturday Night Live. (The humor was just as tongue-in-cheek as her other recent outros.)

Sabrina also played Daphne in a Scooby-Doo-themed skit, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal as Fred and cast members Sarah Sherman as Velma, Mikey Day as Shaggy, and Andrew Dismukes as an animated Scooby-Doo. It follows the gang as they solve a typical mystery...but things quickly go south after the identity of the monster has been revealed.
This past episode was the finale of Saturday Night Live’s Season 49. Previous musical guests this season included Vampire Weekend, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Boygenius, Bad Bunny, Ice Spice, Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, 21 Savage, Ariana Grande, Kacey Musgraves, Foo Fighters, Raye, Chris Stapleton, Reneé Rapp, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Noah Kahan, and Tate McRae.
In other Sabrina Carpenter news, the former Disney star recently performed at Coachella in April. "Espresso" has marked the first top-10 single of her career on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number four.
