We've got some curiouser and curiouser news: Sabrina Carpenter will produce and star in a movie musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic Alice in Wonderland.
The flick is set to be distributed by Universal. The as-yet-untitled picture will be written and directed by Lorene Scafaria: best known for directing several episodes of Succession (for which she earned two Emmy nominations) and helming the movies Hustlers and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

While plot details are being kept under wraps and a release date is not yet in sight, Carpenter’s new project does list Marc Platt as a co-producer, through his company Marc Platt Productions. Platt is known as a producer for Wicked and the forthcoming Wicked: For Good. Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton will also help produce the adaptation.
The news comes on the heels of her latest studio album release, Man's Best Friend, which dropped back in September. It was shared just in time for Carpenter to scoop up six nominations at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards. One of the biggest is her nomination for Song of the Year with “Manchild” - marking her second time in the category - following last year’s run with “Please Please Please.” As with last time, Carpenter shares the nomination with co-writer Jack Antonoff.
Rounding out Carpenter’s Grammy Award nominations this time are Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Man’s Best Friend, as well as Record of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Solo Performance, for “Manchild.”
In other Sabrina Carpenter news, the pop starlet is currently wrapping up her Short N' Sweet tour. Her next shows will be in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena on November 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, and 23rd. Last month, she appeared on Saturday Night Live to act in some sketches and perform "Manchild" and "Nobody's Son." Before that, she was announced as a headliner for the 2026 edition of Coachella.
