Filmmaker Allen Hughes has a new project lined up that will showcase Tupac Shakur's prolific but tragically short career. The plan for the project is to create a five-part docuseries using everything in Tupac's vault.
Deadline reports that this is the first project to have the full cooperation of the Shakur Estate. Due to this cooperation, Hughes has access to unreleased recordings, writings, and poetry.
Hughes, who previously directed the HBO docuseries The Defiant Ones on Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, will serve as director and executive producer of the currently untitled series. Lasse Järvi and Charles D. King will serve as executive producers as well.
