After sharing a remix of "America Has a Problem" back in May, Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar have performed their song together live for the first time.
Kendrick Lamar joined Beyoncé on stage during a Labor Day (September 4) concert in Inglewood, California. His surprise appearance during “America Has a Problem” was part of Queen Bey's 42nd birthday celebration. During part of the verse, it appeared Lamar’s mic wasn’t on, but the issue was fixed once he got to his "I’m an honorary Beyhive, let’s see why" lyric.
Typically during the Renaissance tour, Beyoncé performs “America Has a Problem” in a recreation of a news station desk. She relays the news of America’s problem (A.K.A., herself) on Channel 4’s KNTY News. At Monday night’s show, Lamar climbed up from behind the desk and delivered his fiery remix verse to the sold-out stadium.
In Inglewood, Diana Ross also made a guest appearance, leading the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Beyoncé. The Renaissance World Tour continues through the end of September, with dates in Vancouver, Seattle, New Orleans, and eventually Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston.
