Carly Rae Jepsen Unveils Details of Upcoming 6th Studio Album 'The Loneliest Time'
Carly Rae Jepsen's sixth studio album is officially on the way. The pop star took to social media on Aug. 2 to unveil the title, cover art, and release date for her new album, The Loneliest Time.
Out October 21, the album is Jepsen’s “most introspective body of work to date,” according to a press release. The album's cover art shows a blonde Jepsen looking over her shoulder while sitting at a table covered with painted fruits, flowers, and pearls. Collaborators on the new LP include Tavish Crowe, Rostam Batmanglij, Bullion, Captain Cuts, John Hill, Kyle Shearer, and Alex Hope.
“I’m quite fascinated by loneliness,” Jepsen wrote about the album's title. “It can be really beautiful when you turn it over and look at it. Just like love, it can cause some extreme human reactions.”
The Loneliest Time follows the singer-songwriter’s companion albums Dedicated and Dedicated Side B, released in 2019 and 2022 respectively, as well as her 2015 record EMOTION.
A few months ago, Jepsen dropped the upcoming album’s lead single “Western Wind,” which arrived with a music video. Before that, she teased fans with a cryptic map, a "Western Wind" billboard, and a phone number to call.
Songs from the upcoming album will be teased during Jepsen's upcoming So Nice Tour, which kicks off late September in Montreal and wraps early November in Chicago. Tickets are available here.
