Carly Rae Jepsen Shares Video for 'Western Wind'

After teasing fans last month, Carly Rae Jepsen has finally released a new song. It's called "Western Wind," and comes with a scenic new music video that sees the artist frolicking through fields.

Produced and co-written by her E•MO•TION collaborator Rostam Batmanglij, the song features background vocals from Jepsen, Batmanglij, Julia Ross, and Angel Deradoorian. On the mellow track, she reminisces about falling in love while a folk-esque beat plays behind her. At Coachella last month, Jepsen debuted the new single during her performance.

As for the music video, it was directed by Taylor Fauntleroy and shot in Southern California. In the video, Jepsen rides a blue scooter, sits atop a high tree stump, and sings within an area of yellow wildflowers.

"Western Wind" is the lead single off Jepsen's upcoming fifth studio abum. Her last album, Dedicated, came out in 2019, which she followed up with Dedicated Side B in 2020. Since then, she has shared a handful of singles, including “Me and the Boys in the Band,” the Mxmtoon collab “OK on Your Own,” and the holiday song “It’s Not Christmas Till Somebody Cries.”
