Say hello to Professor Polachek. After circulating online for some time, Caroline Polachek has finally shared her new song "Dang" live. The alt-pop singer gave a wonderfully weird performance on Late Night with Stephen Colbert, schooling her audience with a powerpoint presentation.
"Dang" was produced by Polachek and Cecile Believe, with additional production from her longtime collaborator Danny L Harle. It’s her first single since the sessions for Desire, I Want to Turn Into You, and is set to appear on a bonus edition of the album. While Stephen Colbert was home due to COVID-19, Caroline appeared live in the studio to perform "Dang" during his absence.

Many compared the performance to a TED talk, which Caroline's giant screen and a specially-designed set. On her powerpoint presentations were several abstract slides, including ones that said, "How many wolves are inside you?", "YESSSS oh my god this is so much FUN HAHAHAHA" and graphs on the aesthetic valuation of time and the rate of fireworks sales related to the global temperature.
In other Caroline Polachek news, the artist joined the 1975 on stage in Ireland and dropped three "Bunny Is A Rider" remixes over the summer. Last week, Polachek was a guest on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, performing stripped-down versions of “Pretty In Possible,” “Blood And Butter,” “Sunset,” and “I Believe” from Desire, I Want To Turn Into You.
