"Once upon a time, many years from now, music is forbidden across the spheres." That's the set-up to the new music video for the song "My Universe" - a Coldplay and BTS collaboration that's sung in both English and Korean.
"My Universe" debuted September 24 and is an uplifting pop-rock song about difficult long distance love. It was originally written only for BTS, but the two groups ended up collaborating on the composition and recorded the song together, with help from Max Martin on production.
The Dave Meyers–directed music video is set in a distant galaxy where playing music is prohibited. The visual follows Coldplay and BTS as they attempt to defy the ban and fight against the "Silencers." They also get help from an alien supergroup called Supernova 7 that unites the two bands via hologram.
"My Universe" will appear on Coldplay’s forthcoming studio album Music of the Spheres, which arrives October 15 via Atlantic. You can pre-order here.
