Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is Satire Rock City! We spoke with Spud Davenport about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
I was looking for a home for my radio show and because of a suggestion by my friend Dave, I joined Live365.
What's your studio like?
I have a full music recording studio: Mac Pro, Logic Pro X, Mackie board, Sennheisers, Shures, vintage Gretsch drums, Roland electronic drums, Taylor guitar, 1974 Fender Telecaster, Yamaha electric piano, and Musser marimba.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Listeners can expect rock 'n' roll written and recorded with tongues firmly in cheek ;) aka satire!
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
The best part is just watching as people tune in after a tweet or Facebook post.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
I saw Tom Waits open for Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA with a revolving stage. Frank loved the rotations (and that was his BEST band ever)!
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
System of a Down
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
- 2020 - Ben Folds
Because we're all living it... - Choke - I Dont Know How But They Found Me
This is so catchy. - Lola - The Kinks
- Dark Sunglasses - Chrissie Hynde
- Jealous Of Your Cigarette - Hawksley Workman
- LawnChairs - Leaders In The Clubhouse
