Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is The Big Rewind! We spoke with Jake Litwin about the station's setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
The station needed a stable platform to stream while having music licensing coverage.
What's your studio like?
We run Station Playlist Studio for automation on Windows 10 Professional. Music Master is used for our rules and scheduling. Using Music Master has really allowed us to create some killer music transitions. For our production, we have our own in-house voice and imaging guy. We've also purchased a jingle package to really seal the deal with production. Everything has a great flow! For microphones, we use EV RE320 with a DBX 286s processor. We have a few DJs who are remote and utilize Station Playlist's Remote Voice Tracker to do their shows. For our stream encoding, we use the built-in encoder in Station Playlist Studio, and we use Stereo Tool to process the audio.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Listeners can expect a music-intense station. The Big Rewind is the perfect blend of 70s, 80s, 90s, and Y2K pop, rock, R&B, and dance, which is topped off with our entertaining DJs and weekend shows like Totally Awesome 80's and The Saturday Night Old School Party.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
The best part has been diving in to the world of programming and music scheduling and learning how to create rules and rotations that give the station a great sound.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Tonic. I'm a huge fan. They've played Summerfest a few times in Milwaukee and just put on an all around great show.
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
Other top requested artists are Boz Scaggs, Queen, and Sheryl Crow.
