Hayley Williams Joins Billie Eilish Onstage for Coachella 2022 Set

Billie Eilish's fans were left "Happier Than Ever" after watching her Coachella set on Saturday (April 23), especially since she brought out a very special guest: Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams.

After Eilish introduced Williams and let out a fangirl scream, Williams appeared onstage to join Eilish and her brother Finneas. “Hi! Wow. This is my first Coachella,” Williams said to the crowd, which garnered a large applause. She then addressed Eilish: “Thanks for sharing this with me—this is sick!”

Billie, Hayley, and Finneas then treated the crowd to an acoustic version of Paramore’s beloved 2007 track “Misery Business.” Williams did most of the heavy lifting while Eilish tackled the song's second verse and performed back-up harmonies for Williams.

The performance of "Misery Business" was notable since Williams has stated the song is retired from Paramore's live sets due to the orange-haired frontwoman no longer being able to relate to the angsty lyrics - as well as the 'w' curse word used during the second verse. However, fans noted Eilish simply skipped over the word during the verse. This raises the question: will Paramore perform the song live again so long as that specific word is omitted?

After their duet of "Misery Business," Williams later joined Eilish a second time to assist her in performing "Happier Than Ever." Billie paused to let Hayley sing the line "I don't relate to you, no," then the two belted and danced it out in the song's explosive finale.

It wasn't the first time Eilish brought out special guests during her Coachella sets. During the first weekend of Coachella (April 16), Eilish brought out Damon Albarn for a rendition of her Happier Than Ever track “Getting Older” and Gorillaz’s “Feel Good Inc.” De La Soul’s Pos joined in for the latter track as well. Also during her set, Eilish enlisted Khalid for a performance of 2018's “Lovely.”

As for some other Hayley Williams news, Paramore is currently in the studio prepping a guitar-heavy sixth studio album. Additionally, the group has been tapped to play at the highly-anticipated When We Were Young Festival that's taking place in October. They'll be headlining the nostalgic punk/emo event alongside My Chemical Romance and Avril Lavigne.
