My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Avril Lavigne, & More to Play Nostalgic When We Were Young Festival

Looking to feel young again, but your old emo band CDs just aren't cutting it? The When We Were Young Festival is offering a plate of serious nostalgia. My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Avril Lavigne, and a horde of other emo and punk bands from the early 2000s will be playing at the fest in Las Vegas this October.

The When We Were Young Festival will mark the first new Paramore show since the band went on hiatus in 2018. Since the group's break, lead singer Hayley Williams has released two solo projects. The band recently revealed they're back in the studio working on their sixth studio album.

Although not their first show back following their seven-year break, My Chemical Romance will also return to the stage. Their most recent performance was in 2019 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles for a highly-anticipated reunion show. The group is also set to tour in 2022, after having to cancel their 2020 trek due to COVID-19.

As for Avril Lavigne, the pop-punk princess is currently prepping a "Sk8r Boi" movie as well as a new album entitled Love Sux, due out February 25. She also recently presented musical protégé Olivia Rodrigo with the Songwriter of the Year award at the Variety Hitmakers Brunch.

Boasting over 50 acts, the fest will also see performances from nostalgic bands like Bright Eyes, AFI, The Used, Bring Me The Horizon, Boys Like Girls, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, We the Kings, Alkaline Trio, Manchester Orchestra, Dance Gavin Dance, The All-American Rejects, Anberlin, 3OH!3, Atreyu, The Ready Set, Jimmy Eat World, La Dispute, the Wonder Years, Hawthorne Heights, Car Seat Headrest, Wolf Alice, and many more.

The festival will take place for one day only, October 22, on the Las Vegas Grounds. Fans can sign up for the ticket pre-sale, which starts on Friday (Jan. 21), here.
