Jack Antonoff’s band, Bleachers, is back! The group has marked their return with a new song called "Modern Girl". It's out via the band’s new record label, Dirty Hit. (Which represents indie stars such as Rina Sawayama, Beabadoobee, The 1975, Wolf Alice, and more.)
"Modern Girl" is a fun uptempo dance number with screaming and saxophone solos. According to the single’s announcement, it’s the first preview of what’s to come on the next, currently-unannounced Bleachers album. The band's last studio effort was 2021's Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night.
The music video for "Modern Girl" was directed by Alex Lockett. Shot on film, it's a simple visual of the band having fun and goofing off in a studio. There's lots of close-ups of Antonoff, a retro checkered floor, and a squashed tomato by the end.
As for more Antonoff news, the star musician won the Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, twice in a row. In the years since he last put out a Bleachers full-length, Antonoff has collaborated with the likes of Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey, the 1975, Florence and the Machine, Maren Morris, H.E.R., Phoebe Bridgers, Thundercat, the late BROCKHAMPTON, and many more. He was also behind the soundtrack to Minions: The Rise of Gru.
