Today, Live365's Featured Holiday Station is Clark Radio. It's the perfect soundtrack for that fun old fashioned family Christmas. Enjoy all of your favorite traditional Christmas songs and some fun ones mixed in there too. It is sure to please all of your friends, neighbors and relatives...even your crazy cousin.
We recently spoke with Clark Griswold of Clark Radio to talk about the station, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite holiday tunes!
What brought you to Live365?
A few years ago I tried to have a fun old fashioned family Christmas with the family, and wouldn't you know we had everything possible go wrong. I decided to turn that experience into a station that everyone could enjoy...without the burned up tree and SWAT team visit of course.
What's your studio like?
The studio is actually in the attic where I found an old projector with some old family films on it. We added a new floor to it after some injuries from a few loose boards to the face.
What can listeners expect to hear when they tune in to your station?
Listening to Clark Radio is an experience. There are the traditional Christmas songs you've grown to know and love as well as some others you haven't heard in a while. We've also thrown in some fun Christmas songs too for good measure. It's like paprika for your ears. Mixed in with all of the great Christmas music are TV and Movie Moments that will spice up your fun old fashioned family Christmas.
What's been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
It's always a rewarding moment when you get to hit the magic red button and hear all of the hard work actually on the air.
What's the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
The best concert I've actually attended was actually Elton John and Billy Joel together on one stage. It was amazing to see two legends perform separately and then do some of each others songs together at the end of the show.
What are your top 5 or 10 favorite holiday songs?
This is my own Top 5. These are songs that are awesome but you probably won't get to hear them on the radio too much...except on Clark Radio of course:
Somewhere In My Memory - John Williams (from Home Alone)
The Twelve Pains of Christmas - Bob Rivers
All Alone on Christmas - Darlene Love
That Spirit of Christmas - Ray Charles
Christmas Vacation - Mavis Staples
