2024 was Brat Summer...2025 may be Lorde Summer.
Lorde has returned to the spotlight with some of her first brand-new music since releasing Solar Power in 2021. She recently dropped a snippet of an unreleased song on her TikTok account, complete with a brief video of her walking around Washington Square Park in New York City.

In the clip - which looks like it was filmed early in the morning - Lorde lip-syncs to the lyrics of her own song while passing a jogger and the famous Washington Square Arch.
"Since I was 17, I gave you everything / Now, we wake from a dream / Well baby, what was that," she sings in the track. The seconds-long clip marks Lorde's first ever post on TikTok.
In addition to Lorde’s post, the artist wiped her official website and Instagram account clean. Fans have been speculating Lorde is gearing up to release her fourth studio album since July, when she shared an even shorter tidbit of a track and and wrote on Instagram, “Will be back in touch,” as Billboard reported at the time. The following month, producer Jim-E Stack hinted that he and Lorde were working together when he shared a photo of Lorde on her laptop.
In other Lorde news, the New Zealand artist's last major music industry moment was appearing on Charli XCX's "Girl, so confusing (Remix)." She performed the song live with Charli during a Madison Square Garden show back in 2024.
