Ahead of Valentine’s Day, Mariah Carey has released a special Valentine's performance of her 2005 hit “We Belong Together.”
The new live mix, “Mimi’s Late Night Valentine’s Mix,” features Carey harmonizing over her own pre-recorded backing vocals, with Daniel Moore on keys, Derrieux Edgecombe on bass, and Joshua Foster on drums. Carey herself produced and arranged the mix. The performance, which premiered on the Valentine’s Day episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, is just slightly stipped-down from the original track.
In her tweet about the new live mix, Carey noted that they had recorded a seven-minute version of the song that she's thinking of also releasing.
