A new podcast focused on tracing the story of Joy Division and New Order using band member accounts will debut later this month.
Entitled Transmissions: The Definitive Story, the series will tell of the origins of the closely linked bands. Joy Division’s formation, the death of Ian Curtis in 1980, Joy Division's split, and New Order’s formation and release of their 1983 single "Blue Monday" will all be covered in the podcast.
Surviving band members Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert will provide their personal accounts. Interviews with special guest musicians Jonny and Colin Greenwood, Bono, Liam Gallagher, Damon Albarn, Johnny Marr, and more will also be included.
The eight-part series, which premieres Oct. 29, was produced by Cup & Nuzzle and narrated by English actor Maxine Peake. The podcast will be available wherever you listen to podcasts.
