18-year-old Olivia Rodrigo is taking us all to her senior prom, since she never got to go to hers.
On Tuesday, June 29, Olivia Rodrigo shared her SOUR Prom concert film on YouTube. The 27-minute-long film features songs from her new hit album, SOUR. In the movie, Rodrigo sings from the back of a white limo, on the prom dance floor, in a darkroom, and accompanied by a marching band on a football field.

At the time of writing, the concert film already has over 6 million views on YouTube and has been trending on social media. There has been some light controversy regarding the SOUR Prom cover art - Olivia Rodrigo's first public roadblock in her singing career. Courtney Love called out similarities between Rodrigo's artwork and the album art of Hole’s 1994 album Live Through This. Both photographs show prom queens with smudged eye makeup and bouquets.
However, both photographs pay tribute to the 1976 film Carrie - and the concept of a prom queen isn't exactly trademarked. In a New York Times piece about the similarities between the cover photos, NYU art law professor Amy Adler said any legal action against Ms. Rodrigo for the image would be a difficult battle. “You can’t copyright an idea, but only the expression of that idea,” she said.
Despite the drama, Olivia Rodrigo's success hasn't stopped skyrocketing. Her debut album SOUR was released in May and has received massive amounts of commercial success and critical acclaim. In addition to all the publicity the Disney star has received on TikTok, her songs "good 4 u" and "deja vu" are still within the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart ("good 4 u" is #2, while "deja vu" is #9).
Last month, Rodrigo performed "drivers license" and "good 4 u" when she was the musical guest on SNL. Because of SOUR's success, rumors of an upcoming tour for the album are intensifying.
