“Holly Rock,” one of the tracks featured on Prince's recent posthumous collection Originals, now has a colorful animated video. The video, which was created by London's Electric Light Studios and co-produced by the Prince estate and Warner Records, features the late musician in a variety of vibrant outfits and comic strips to showcase some of the song's lyrics.
"Holly Rock" was produced and co-written by Prince with his friend and collaborator Sheila E, although he gave her sole writing and producer credit. It was originally recorded for the soundtrack for the 1985 film Krush Groove, but Prince recorded his own version at Los Angeles’ Sunset Sound studios in April 1985.
Originals is available now and features the Prince version of 15 tracks that the late icon wrote and gave away to other artists.
