Sheila E. recently teased on social media that a film about her relationship with Prince is currently in the works.
In a brief Facebook post, she revealed that the film, entitled Girl Meets Boy, is "coming soon" and will tell "the beautiful story of her time with Prince."
Sheila E. and Prince first met at a concert in 1977 and began collaborating years later. The Queen of Percussion contributed vocals during the Purple Rain recording sessions, opened for the Purple Rain Tour, and later joined Prince's backing band.
The pair eventually developed a romantic relationship and were briefly engaged. Although their romantic and working relationship ultimately ended in the late 80s, they remained close friends and reunited onstage periodically. Following Prince's passing, Sheila E. released “Girl Meets Boy,” a song dedicated to Prince.
At the time of writing, no further details about the upcoming film have been revealed.
