SZA Announced as December 'SNL' Musical Guest

SZA has been announced as the musical guest for the December 3, 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live. The Ctrl singer will perform on an episode alongside host Keke Palmer.

“first december show!” the Saturday Night Live Instagram announced on Sunday (November 13), following this weekend’s episode with Dave Chappelle and Black Star. “Can’t believe this is happening lmao . I plan on acting a f—ing fool . See you soon New York,” SZA shared on her own account the same day.

The singer last performed on SNL in 2017. During that time, she sang “The Weekend” and “Love Galore” from Ctrl. This summer, she celebrated the album’s fifth anniversary with a deluxe edition featuring seven previously unreleased tracks.

In other SZA news, the artist was recently cast in a new Eddie Huang film called Tuna Melt. She released a new song called “Shirt” last month, and it marked the first new solo music from her since June's Ctrl (Deluxe). It all comes after the singer won the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award with Doja Cat for "Kiss Me More" at the Grammys earlier this year.

Most recently, SZA has shared an “official teaser” titled “PSA.” In the visual, SZA is surrounded by a green ring of fire. It ends with a blip of Morse code, which, as Rolling Stone has pointed out, translates to “S.O.S.”
