The Flaming Lips to Release First-Ever Live Album

The Flaming Lips have announced that they will be releasing their first-ever live album, which will feature the band’s 2016 live performance of The Soft Bulletin. Entitled The Soft Bulletin Recorded Live at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the live album is due out Nov. 29 via Warner Records.

The concert was recorded on May 26, 2016 with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado and features a 68-piece orchestra and a 57-person choir conducted by Andre De Ridder. The Flaming Lips, Scott Booker, and their long-time collaborator Dave Fridmann produced the concert.

The live album will be released digitally, as a double vinyl album, and CD. It is available for preorder now.

As previously announced, The Soft Bulletin is getting a limited edition vinyl reissue, exclusively available through subscription service Vinyl Me, Please. This reissue and live album are both in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their 1999 album The Soft Bulletin.
