The next twenty one pilots album, Clancy, is almost here! It's due out Friday, May 24 and will be the follow-up to their 2021 record Scaled and Icy. Recently, the duo released a new single that you technically won’t be able to hear on their impending seventh LP. It's called "The Craving (single version)" and comes with a new music video directed by Reel Bear Media.
The standalone single is actually a version of a Clancy track named "The Craving (Jenna's Version)." Tyler and Josh debuted that song at a London show earlier this month. Thematically, the song is dedicated to/inspired by Tyler Joseph’s wife, Jenna Joseph.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 before the debut of “The Craving (Single version),” Tyler explained: "I wrote this song about my relationship with my wife, but kinda tapped into earlier on in our relationship, when I was trying to woo her. But it was interesting, I wrote it at the kitchen table, with our kids on either side of us. Kind of a crazy time to be thinking back to when we weren’t sure if we were going to be a thing or not, and here I was, writing a song on the ukulele, with two children eating their food on either side of me, so that’s kind of where this song came about."
This new version of "The Craving" features more instrumentation and sounds more upbeat than the original – clearly intended for radio airplay. The music video shows Tyler and Josh doing some crafting and woodwork in their own studios. They finish their creations by the video's end, and in a hilarious reveal, we learn what all their hard work was really for.
Before both versions of "The Craving," twenty one pilots dropped the Clancy singles “Backslide,” “Next Semester,” and “Overcompensate.” To support the record, they'll be going on a world tour throughout 2024 and 2025. You can get your tickets here.
