A set of 12 UK postage stamps will honor Elton John and his contributions to music. The stamps will feature the singer's classic album covers and images of John performing live.
Eight album covers will be featured: Honky Chateau, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Caribou, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, Sleeping With the Past, The One, Made in England, and Songs From the West Coast. Other stamps include a photograph of his 1973 show at the Hammersmith Odeon in London and an image of his 2018 show at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Regarding the honor, John said, “To say I was surprised when Royal Mail got in touch is an understatement.” “Never did I think I'd appear on a stamp!”
John follows David Bowie as the second solo music artist to be featured on a set of stamps from the Royal Mail. The stamps come in a variety of formats and can be purchased here.
