2023 World College Radio Day Recap

The 13th annual World College Radio Day took place just over a month ago and it was a success! The global marathon occurred on October 6th for over 24 hours and featured many countries, including Fiji, Greece, Mexico, and more.

All the excitement around this year's World College Radio Day included a letter from the White House, speaking to the medium's rich history and this year's theme.

"Whether they are playing a song that take us back to a time, a place, or a memory or breaking news that drives our discourse, college radio stations have been a cornerstone of American culture for generations," the letter reads. "This year's theme–Where All Voices Are Welcome–celebrates the spirit of inclusivity and discovery that has nurtured countless future broadcasters and enriched student life on campuses across our Nation."

About the event, founder Rob Quicke said, “We were very pleased that we had over 700 stations participate in over 50 countries, and getting that letter from President Biden meant a lot for our students as well.”

He continued, “We were also delighted that the 24-hour global marathon went so smoothly - we think it was one of our best yet! Thanks again for the support from Live365 to make it a huge success!”
