Barry Manilow Gifts $100K of Band Equipment to North Carolina High School

Barry Manilow has gifted East Duplin High School in North Carolina $100,000 worth of new band equipment. The high school is located in an area that is still recovering from Hurricane Florence.

Reportedly, the band couldn’t afford new instruments and uniforms, so they entered a national contest by the Manilow Music Project for help.

Manilow announced the winner of the contest at his Las Vegas show on Wednesday.

After receiving many moving video entries, Manilow and his team decided that East Duplin deserved the grand prize of $100,000 for new instruments and uniforms. He also gave prizes to four other schools that they deemed particularly deserving of music program funding.
