According to an official synopsis for the film, "It is about Beyoncé's intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft." The "Break My Soul" singer, who wrapped up her tour in Kansas City on Sunday, has also released a trailer for the film. In it, she says, "When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged."

The trailer also shows images of Beyoncé's family and features clips of her daughter Blue Ivy joining her onstage. Rumi and Sir, plus Jay-Z are also present.

On May 10, Beyoncé finally brought Renaissance to the stage. She kicked off her first tour in four and a half years in Stockholm, Sweden, performing “America Has a Problem,” “Virgo’s Groove,” “Cuff It,” and other tracks from the record for the first time across a three-hour set. Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh album overall and her first solo album since 2016’s Lemonade. It’s the first part of a self-described “three-act project” recorded over the pandemic.
