Beyoncé Donates $2.5 Million for Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts

Another powerful name in the music industry is helping those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. Beyoncé, through her BeyGood organization, has donated $2.5 million to support relief efforts in California, as residents continue to deal with the deadly blazes.

BeyGood's LA Fire Relief Fund “is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” the organization said. Fans are encouraged to show their support through additional donations - you can do so here.

Beyoncé’s BeyGood has aided numerous charitable causes since its 2013 founding. The organization has donated money to support people affected by the Flint, Michigan water crisis, displaced victims of 2017’s Hurricane Harvey, essential workers at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and more.

On Monday evening (January 13), Beyoncé also shared a note on social media that her mysterious January 14 announcement date “will be postponed to a later date” due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires.

“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” she wrote. “We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protest the Los Angeles community. To join our efforts in supporting those impacted, please visit @BeyGood.”

Beyoncé's decision to postpone her announcement out of respect for the wildfire victims echoes other postponements made by music industry pioneers. (Including the Weeknd, who has pushed back his next album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, to the end of the month.) With her large donation, she's also following in the footsteps of organizations like the Recording Academy and MusiCares, who have jointly pledged $1 million to aid LA wildfire victims.

The music world has been rallying to help those impacted by the fires. Speedy Ortiz and Sad13’s Sadie Dupuis have posted a link to a spreadsheet of “music industry folks who have lost their homes to the fires.” The spreadsheet includes GoFundMe pages and other requests from music industry people who need help. Additionally, Inglewood's Intuit Dome will be holding a benefit concert at the end of the month to help victims.

In other Beyoncé news, the artist recently gave a stunning performance of Cowboy Carter songs during the NFL's Christmas Day Halftime Show. The event is now available to watch on Netflix. With her genre-blending country album, Queen Bey is also nominated for 11 awards at the 2025 GRAMMYs.
