Black Lives Matter PSAs for Live365 Broadcasters

Hey broadcasters!

As we collectively continue dedicating ourselves to anti-racism work as well as educating ourselves on Black American history and the Black Lives Matter movement, we wanted to provide some resources for our broadcasters to use in the fight against racism.

As a broadcaster, you might consider using your station as a vehicle for anti-racism work. Of course, it is absolutely essential that you conduct thorough research first to ensure you have factual information and news. Anything that you plan to broadcast should be fully researched to avoid the spread of myths and misinformation. The following are just a few examples of anti-racist programming you might consider:

  • PSAs
  • Educational programming on Black American history and culture
  • Moments of silence (i.e. 8 minutes and 46 seconds for George Floyd and the countless Black lives that have been lost at the hands of systemic racism)
  • Segments featuring music or talk by BIPOC artists

With that said, we're providing some Black Lives Matter PSAs for you to use on your station if you'd like. You can download the PSA MP3 files, which are contained in a ZIP file, here:

Black Lives Matter PSAs

Note: You may get the message "Couldn't preview file. There was a problem with the preview. Retrying..." after clicking the above link. However, you are able to download the files as normal despite that message.

Recorded and produced by Benztown, these PSAs provide information on the Black Lives Matter movement as well as ways that people can get involved.

Note that the metadata contains the PSA details as the title, Live365 as the artist, Benztown as the album name, and “Produced by Benztown” as the ID3 Comment field. The Live365 logo is the cover art.

From here, all you need to do is download the ZIP file, unzip it, and upload the MP3 files to your library, using "Promo" as the track Type. Labeling these PSAs as the "Promo" track Type is typically the best for library organization. Then, you can program your station as desired, whether that be with AutoDJ, Clockwheels, Scheduled Events, or LiveDJ, and the PSAs, as with all other tracks, will play according to your programming.

We hope that these PSAs are of assistance when programming your station, and thank you so much for your work in providing top-notch programming to people all around the world.
