Charli XCX is taking a break from her Brat era to deliver some nostalgia for fans.
After teasing celebrations around the fifth anniversary of How I’m Feeling Now, Charli has delivered a belated video for “Party 4 U” from the record. The visual, directed by Mitch Ryan from an idea by Charli, depicts her embarking on a chaotic day out in the aftermath of a house party. It culminates in the "Von Dutch" singer setting a billboard of herself on fire.

In making the 2020 album, Charli XCX wrote in a note yesterday, “I felt like I rediscovered myself, my sanity + my sense of connection with the world, at a time where we were all so alone. To create with all of you helped me feel OK.”
She continued, “It was all of us at our most raw, our most stripped, our most vulnerable. I will never forget it, and I really can’t believe that 5 years later one of the Angel favorites is having its own special moment.” She has also released a limited-edition, clear glitter vinyl of How I’m Feeling Now to celebrate the anniversary. (You can find them here.)
The video is Charli XCX’s first release not to be tethered to Brat since the blockbuster album’s release last June. She has, however, been active in various other pursuits. They include several film projects (Sacrifice, Overcompensating, Mother Mary, and her own film, The Moment, just to name a few), and a recent Saturday Night Live appearance.
Additionally, Charli is still touring in support of brat - visiting various festivals over the summer. You can find tickets for those shows on her official website.
