Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is Channel R - Today's Hits! We spoke with Reg Singh about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
We came for the promise of an easy place to run our internet radio station legally, but stayed for the quality product and amazing service.
What's your studio like?
We don't have live DJs, so it's pretty simple. We just use SAM Broadcaster Cloud with Live365.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
We want Channel R to be a place where our listeners get to listen to great music – not because it’s going viral right now or an algorithm told you so, but simply because it’s good! We play all types of music – from Top 40 pop and EDM to R&B and rap to rock! Channel R is all about sharing what WE like.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
The best part is perfecting our playlist by weaving in new music with hits over the past decade as well as adding in special programming like our "Chart Show Top 10," "New Music Show," and "Club R" where we feature club remixes.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
That's a tough one, but I would actually go with a music festival. Coachella 2019 was an incredible gathering of diverse acts and such an amazing place to wander into a tent and discover up and coming artists like Lizzo, Billie Eilish, and Rosalía, unknown legends like Calypso Rose, or EDM acts like FISHER and Gryffin.
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to?
Queen. Freddie Mercury had an energy that you just don't see today and experiencing that live is something I would have loved.
