Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is Hope Nation Radio! We spoke with Nile "Big Daddy" Peaytt about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
We came to Live365 after doing some research online.
What's your studio like?
We have a home studio. All we need is a laptop, Samsung USB mic, and Sony headphones.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Our station is dedicated to children fighting cancer, but our music and original programming is for everyone. We play country, rock, pop, contemporary Christian, and 80s music. We are based in Nashville and take pride in our wide variety of music.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
We can't give just one moment, but the best part is being able to bring smiles to kids fighting cancer, even if it's only for an hour. We use our station brand to visit hospitals and homes as well. Our goal is to spread HOPE and use music to bring people together.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Garth Brooks. Why? One of the greatest entertainers ever. He cares about his fans, loves people, respects music in general, and is down to earth. I've met him on numerous occasions and he's just a guy from Oklahoma - a songwriter and family man first.
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
I would love to see a Beatle.
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
This is tough, but here we go:
5. Home - Michael Buble
I love everything Buble. He's a once in a lifetime artist. I know this song is personal to him.
4. New York State Of Mind - Billy Joel
Billy is another idol (No pun intended). Something about this song paints a picture.
3. Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N Roses
I love GNR...great memories from this tune.
2. All The Way - Frank Sinatra
I fell in love with this song from one of his movies. Can't go wrong with Frank.
1. If Tomorrow Never Comes - Garth Brooks
As a widower and someone active in the cancer community, this seems to stand out more. We need to tell the people in our lives how we feel. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed.
