Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is New Jack Radio! We spoke with djKAZ about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
After much research, Live365 had all the tools that we were looking for all wrapped into one to bring fun and entertaining radio to the web!
What's your studio like?
Our studio is very little, we have a production area with Adobe Edition to cut promos, produce, and record our podcast. Then, we have another computer area that we run Live365 and NextKast on for live shows. We use a Blue Yeti Blackout mic and an AKG 220 Perception.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
It is a unique station playing hits from the "NEW JACK SWING" era of the late 80s and early 90s R&B and hip-hop. It is a station taking people back to their middle school, high school, and college years. It represents when a time was simpler, the music was fun and colorful, and the only thing that mattered in life was music, family, friends, and memories.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
The best part is the responses from people that listen, thanking us for making a station like New Jack Radio. The emails and comments we get each day continue to drive us to make this a great station for the people in the community!
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Keith Sweat was one of our favorites, this guy puts on an amazing show. The show was supposed to be about 1 hour, but he kept the show going for almost 3 hours!
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
We would have to say Aaliyah, she was a great talent and left us too soon.
