Florence + the Machine Share Music Video 'Heaven Is Here' & Tribute Its Ukrainian Dancers

Florence + the Machine have shared a new music video for the song "Heaven Is Here." The visual was choreographed by Ryan Heffington and directed by Autumn de Wilde, who also directed the group's last music video, "King."

"Heaven Is Here" sees Florence and a troupe of dancers prancing around in an open space. The video was actually shot in Kyiv, Ukraine, back in November - before Russia invaded Ukraine.

According to Florence Welch, two of the dancers in the video are sheltering in their home city as it remains under siege by Russian forces. “To my brave and beautiful sisters Maryne and Anastasiia,” she wrote on Twitter, “I love you. I wish I could put my arms around you.”

Florence also shared another statement about the song:

"'Heaven Is Here' was the first song I wrote in lockdown after an extended period of not being able to get to the studio. I wanted to make something monstrous. And this clamour of joy, fury and grief was the first thing that came out. With dance studios also shut it was my dream to one day create choreography with it. So it’s one of the first pieces of music I have made specifically with contemporary dance in mind."

Following "King" (the music video for which was also shot in Ukraine), "Heaven Is Here" is the second song Florence + the Machine have released this year. Currently, no plans have been announced for a follow-up to the band's 2018 album High as Hope, though it certainly seems like the group has something in the works.
