Here Are All the Live Streams & Virtual Events to Watch During the Coronavirus Emergency

With all live events and nonessential business shutdown in cities around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, people are finding a new sense of community via live streams and virtual events.

Many artists and organizations are taking to this alternative way of bringing music and entertainment to the masses, making this time of self-quarantine and social distancing a little less challenging.

Check out the list of live streams as well as virtual events that you can watch to pass the time below.


New Series & Recurring Live Streams & Events:


  • Adam Weiner of Low Cut Connie is hosting a handful of free livestreamed shows, dubbed “Live From South Philly." Shows occur on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Amanda Shires performs live on YouTube with her "I So Lounging" series every day at 6:30pm ET.

  • Americana Highways is kicking off "Live Music From the Quarantine," a series including four back-to-back 30-minute sets from different artists, six nights a week, via Facebook Live. See the schedule here.

  • Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance brand is launching a live stream project entitled "Beat the Silence," which will regularly stream on ASOT's Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard is livestreaming on YouTube and Facebook from his home studio at 7pm ET (4pm PT) daily.

  • Big Freedia and her shake team are set to perform live every Friday night at 9pm ET for the foreseeable future with their "Friday Night Shakedown" series on Facebook and Instagram Live. Big Freedia has more shows in the works as well.

  • Billboard is bringing live music to you with their Live-At-Home series on their Facebook page. Each performer will choose a nonprofit partner to support with their live stream. All past live streams are available via Billboard's Facebook.

  • Brandy Clark is hosting "Brandy’s Book Club" on Instagram Live on Monday nights at 7pm ET. She's also going live weekly on Instagram and Facebook on Wednesdays at 7pm ET.

  • The Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson has announced “Boy In A Bubble,” a daily Instagram Live series. He goes live on his own Instagram each day at 5:20pm ET.

  • Charli XCX has launched a new Instagram Live series of daily "self-isolating" shows. See her Instagram for the full schedule.

  • Christine and the Queens will go live on Instagram daily at 6pm ET, promising "guests and weird concepts."

  • Echosmith will launch “The Lonely Generation Acoustic Digital Tour” from April 1-14. They'll perform acoustic shows on various Instagram accounts, Facebook pages, and/or websites.

  • Glass Animals singer Dave Bayley is launching “Quarantine Covers” on YouTube, which will feature him covering fan-requested songs and going through the gear he used to record them.

  • Dave Grohl has launched a new Instagram page, "Dave’s True Stories," to share short stories from his life.

  • Debbie Allen is hosting live dance classes on Instagram.

  • Devin Townsend is releasing unreleased material each day as part of his "QUARANTINE PROJECT."

  • Devon Allman of The Allman Betts Band is launching the “We Are Still All Together Tour” on Facebook. This tour will be professionaly produced, complete with video intros, outros, fading, and transitions. There will also be a virtual tip jar for The Allman Betts Band touring crew to support them while touring isn't possible. The weekly schedule is: Wednesdays at 8pm ET, Fridays at 8pm ET, and Sundays at 5pm ET.

  • Diplo has launched his “Corona World Tour,” where he will be livestreaming DJ sets from his house five nights per week for the duration of the social distancing/quarantine practices in the U.S. He'll be streaming on YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram. Note that “A Very Lazer Sunday” will stream on the Major Lazer YouTube. The schedule is as follows:

  • Drew Holcomb goes live on Instagram and Facebook daily at 9pm ET to present “Kitchen Covers.”

  • Garth Brooks has a weekly series on Facebook called "Inside Studio G." The series airs on Mondays at 7pm ET.

  • Gibson has launched a new “HomeMade Sessions” video series on YouTube featuring performances and interviews with a variety of musicians.

  • Gimme Country is hosting regular lives with various country musicians.

  • The Grammy Museum is releasing never-before-released digital programs for free starting Wednesday, March 18. New programs will be released on GrammyMuseum.org every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Planned programs include Scarypoolparty (March 18), Yola (March 21), Newhart (March 23), Larkin Poe (March 25), X Ambassadors (March 28), Carlile (March 30), Billie Eilish and Finneas (April 1), Greta Van Fleet (April 4), and Kool and the Gang (April 6). Additionally, every Friday, the museum will release slideshows from past exhibitions, including X: 40 Years of Punk and Take Me Out to the Ball Game: Popular Music and the National Pastime.

  • Jens Lekman is offering "personal shows over Skype" from March 23-29. If you're interested, he'll be randomly calling those that sign up here.

  • Jesse Malin will go live on YouTube every Saturday at 4pm ET with his series "The Fine Art of Self Distancing." Kicking off March 28, the streams will feature songs, stories, and "bits and motivational backflips." There will also be a donation option to support the band and road crew while all touring is postponed.

  • JoJo goes live at 3pm ET (12pm PT) every week day. She has been taking cover song requests and sings and chats during the stream. It's "Your human playlist singing songs you want to hear."

  • Katharine McPhee and David Foster are performing live on Instagram every day at 8:30pm ET (5:30pm PT).

  • Keith Urban has launched a YouTube series of live concerts from his home studio, dubbed "Urban Underground."

  • La Blogotheque has launched the series “Stay Away Shows” on Instagram, which takes place with different artists every day at 2pm ET.

  • L Devine has launched a "URL tour" that brings a live stream to a different platform each night between March 16-30.

  • The Live From Here radio show launched a "Live From Home" series that features artists singing a variety of songs.

  • Machine Gun Kelly has been taking to Instagram daily with quick guitar covers dubbed the #LockdownSessions.

  • Margaret Glaspy is performing live on Instagram from March 23-27 1pm ET to celebrate the release of Devotion.

  • Maro is posting short covers regularly on Instagram, dubbed "CoronavsMaro."

  • Mary Chapin Carpenter has launched “Songs From Home,” a new online music series on Facebook.

  • Melissa Etheridge is performing live on Facebook every day at 3pm ET.

  • The Metropolitan Opera is streaming titles from its Live in HD series for free every day. The daily streams begin at 7:30pm ET and are available for 20 hours.

  • Metallica has launched a new concert series on Mondays, appropriately named #MetallicaMondays, on YouTube and Facebook.

  • Miley Cyrus hosts a live stream on Instagram Monday-Friday from 2:30pm-3:30pm ET (11:30am-12:30pm PT). She also has been saving portions of the streams to IGTV and posting the streams in full on her YouTube. Entitled "Bright Minded: Live with Miley," the series sees Cyrus "connecting with special guests discussing how to stay lit with love in dark times."

  • MTV is regularly hosting #AloneTogether performances featuring various artists on their Instagram Live. MTV has also launched Unplugged at Home, an online series featuring artists performing acoustic sets at home. The series is available on YouTube.

  • Myd is livestreaming every morning at 8:30am Paris time (3:30am ET/12:30am PT).

  • Neil Young is performing a series of "Fireside Sessions" filmed by his wife, actress Daryl Hannah. They'll include "down-home production, a few songs, [and] a little time together." The first session was released, but there is no info on when the next session is to be expected. In addition to his live stream series, the Neil Young Archives are premiering a number of archival films for the site's subscribers.

  • Phish are launching “Dinner and a Movie,” a series of archived full shows airing every Tuesday at 8:30pm ET on LivePhish.com. The band will also be recommending in-home recipes so fans can cook while enjoying the show.

  • Quinn XCII has launched an interactive game show called Quarantine Green, which airs every Monday-Friday at 6pm ET on Instagram Live.

  • Robert’s Western World launched a new nightly livestream series on Facebook featuring a variety of acts.

  • Rob Thomas is regularly sharing #SocialDistanceSessions on Instagram, encouraging other artists to take part.

  • Rolling Stone is launching a new IGTV series titled “In My Room.” At 3pm ET (12pm PT) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, they'll be releasing new episodes with legacy artists as well as newer artists performing from their homes.

  • Rufus Wainwright has launched "Musical Everydays" on his Instagram, a series of daily performances from his home in Los Angeles. He'll play one song from his catalogue every day on the piano.

  • Sony Music Nashville artists are putting on a series of live stream concerts. See the label's Facebook for updates.

  • Third Man Records are putting on live performances from the Blue Room at its Nashville headquarters every day at 1pm ET. Taking place on YouTube, the series, "Third Man Public Access," will occur for the "foreseeable future" and will feature the label's artists. Fans can use Venmo or Paypal to support the artists.

  • Tidal is hosting a "Check In" series with Elliott Wilson and special guests on Tidal's Instagram.

  • Tori Kelly is going live on Instagram every day at 4pm ET (1pm PT).

  • Each day, one Universal Music Argentina artist does a livestream at 3pm ET on Instagram, Facebook, or Youtube as part of the new initiative #Musicaencasa (MusicInYourHouse).

  • Vanessa Carlton will host an Instagram Live each day between March 22-26 at 6pm ET ahead of the release of her sixth album Love Is An Art.

  • Verizon has launched Pay if Forward Live, a new weekly streaming series that will include music, gaming, comedy, and other categories to support small businesses that have been affected during the coronavirus pandemic. The series kickes off on Thursday, March 26 at 8pm ET with Dave Matthews on Verizon's Twitter and Yahoo Entertainment.

  • Virtual Festival, "a collaborative effort dedicated to supporting musicians through live-streamed performances," is hosting performances by an array of acts via YouTube and Facebook Live. See their published schedule here. Instead of tickets, fans will be able to donate directly to the artists via PayPal and Venmo.

  • The War on Drugs is launching “Quaran Tones,” where they will play “new, almost finished songs, some experiments, [and] some old multi tracks.” They streamed their first episode on Instagram on Friday, March 20.

  • Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby performed some songs on Instagram Live on Thursday, March 19 and are planning to do another live stream on Thursday, March 26 on Waxahatchee’s Instagram.

  • Whiskey Jam is hosting Instagram Lives with various musicians every night at 10pm ET.

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen have launched "Together, At Home: WHO-Global Citizen Solidarity Sessions," which is a series of online concert performances that "aims to unite humanity at a time when many may feel isolated at home." Most particpating artists have posted their live in full on their Instagram, but the Global Citizen Instagram has also been posting many of the lives to their page in addition to posting the daily schedule to their story.

  • Yo-Yo Ma is planning to perform live on Instagram on a pretty regular basis with his “Songs of Comfort” series.


One-Time Events:


  • Ambjaay will perform on Instagram Live at 9pm ET on Monday, March 30.

  • Q is going on Instagram Live on Monday, March 30 at 1pm ET.

  • Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes did an Instagram live together on Friday, March 20 and Friday, March 27. They plan to do another live on Friday, April 3.

  • The White Buffalo (aka Jake Smith) is performing an hourlong one-time-only show on April 5 at 3pm ET that will feature material from his upcoming album, On the Widow's Walk. Passes for the online event are $10.

  • Los Angeles-based dance festival company Insomniac launched "Wonderland Virtual Rave-A-Thon," which will broadcast on Insomniac's YouTube on March 20 and 21 from 8pm to midnight PT each night. The event will feature live sets by Loud Luxury, Mija, Party Favor, Saymyname, and many more. Insomniac will also broadcast previous events, including Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, and EDC Mexico. "Insomniac Rewind" will broadcast 24 hours a day on YouTube until midnight on March 31.

  • The Blues Foundation are working on virtual events to replace the Blues Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the 41st Annual Blues Music Awards that were to take place May 6-7. More information to come.

  • iHeartMedia and Fox announced the iHeart Living Room Concert for America to help provide support for COVID-19 relief. Hosted by Elton John, the event featured performances by Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, and more. The concert took place on Sunday, March 29 at 9pm ET on FOX.

  • Madeon offerd up a live DJ set on March 29.

  • Rileyy Lanez performed on March 29 on Instagram.

  • Taylor Dayne performed a "Soulful Sunday" set on March 29 on Instagram Live.

  • Australian musicians put on ISOL-AID (Instagram Live Music Festival) on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday March, 22. Artists performed 20-minute sets between noon to midnight AEDT. They put on a second staging of ISOL-AID on Instagram on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.

  • Peter Bjorn and John livestreamed a 36-hour performance called "36h Ingrid." The stream took place on Twitch from Friday, March 27 at 9am ET to Saturday, March 28 at 10pm ET.

  • Ladysmith Black Mambazo presented the concert she performed recently in an empty Royce Hall on Facebook on Friday, March 27 at 12am ET.

  • Jessie J went live on Instagram to sing some songs and raise spirits and money for those in need on Friday, March 27 at 3pm ET.

  • In partnership with Amazon Music, RAC performed live on Twitch on Friday, March 27 at 6pm ET.

  • Half Waif celebrated the release of their new album The Caretaker with a live stream on Friday, March 27 at 7:30pm ET.

  • Bandsintown streamed their first LIVE Music Marathon on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27 for 8 hours per day to benefit MusiCares’ COVID-19 relief fund. The event was on Twitch. Following this event, they'll be scheduling regular live music programming and events.

  • An online festival dubbed Cancelled Fest took place Wednesday, March 25-Friday, March 27 on YouTube. Particpating artists included Reggie Watts, Goon, Opus Orange, Draag, and The Cigarette Bums.

  • Exploding in Sound Records hosted an Instagram Live extravaganza of short stripped-down performances from their artists on Thursday, March 26 at 6pm ET.

  • Yannis and Jimmy of Foals went on Instagram Live on Tuesday, March 24 at 2pm ET to host a listening party for Antidotes to commemorate the 12th anniversary of its release.

  • The Aubreys went live on Instagram on Tuesday, March 24 at 4pm ET (1pm PT).

  • SiriusXM launched Ultra Virtual Audio Festival on UMF Radio from Friday, March 20 through Tuesday, March 24. The limited-run radio channel featured exclusive sets from artists that were originally scheduled to perform at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, including Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, and more.

  • Will.i.am, Bono, Jennifer Hudson, and Yoshiki posted their new collaboration, "Sing For Life."

  • Nick Jost, bass player of Baroness, performed on Instagram Live on Monday, March 23 at 8pm ET.

  • Orville Peck performed live and chatted with fans and special guests on March, 23 at 9pm ET on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitch.

  • Caleb Landry Jones performed live on Sacred Bones' Instagram on Monday, March 23 at 2pm ET.

  • Jessie Ware hopped on Instagram Live on Monday, March 23 at 2:30pm ET to “talk disco, Corona, food, Lennie…anything!”

  • James Blake went live on Instagram on Monday, March 23 at 3pm EST.

  • Abby Anderson hosted "Lunch with Abby" at 1pm ET on Monday, March 23 on Instagram Live.

  • Rosie O'Donnell hosted a special event on Sunday, March 22, which aired live on Broadway.com and its YouTube channel at 7pm ET. The one-night Rosie O'Donnell Show featured performances and appearances by entertainers at home, including Idina Menzel, Barry Manilow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Darren Criss, Gloria Estefan, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ben Platt, Jordin Sparks, Billy Porter Morgan Freeman, Neil Patrick Harris, and many more.

  • Courtney Barnett, Lucius, Sharon Van Etten, Sheryl Crow, Fred Armisen, Nathaniel Rateliff, Lukas Nelson, Jonathan Wilson, and more went live on Instagram on Sunday, March 22 at 6pm ET (3pm PT) to benefit Oxfam’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.

  • In partnership with The Jewish Agency for Israel, Idan Raichel went live on Facebook for a special performance on Sunday, March 22 at 4pm ET.

  • Erykah Badu announced a "live interactive experiment," named “Apocalypse One,” this weekend where fans will choose the songs she performs by poll and it'll cost $1 to gain access to the stream. She went live at 6pm ET on Sunday, March 22.

  • The BPM Festival and Mr. Afterparty co-hosted a 24-hour live stream, "Last Night, A Streaming Saved My Life," which kicked off Saturday, March 21 at 2pm ET. It streamed on Facebook and featured sets from Matador, Art Department, Pan-Pot, and more. Money raised via the GoFundMe campaign will go to various coronavirus relief funds.

  • Destructo went live on Facebook and Twitch with his "Sunrise Sermon." The event started at 8:50am ET (5:50 am PT) on Sunday, March 22.

  • Justin Bieber hosted a 3pm ET church service on his Instagram on Sunday, March 22.

  • DJ D-Nice hosted a virtual dance party on Instagram on Saturday, March 22.

  • Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, and Marty Stuart performed on Saturday, March 21 at 8pm ET at the Grand Ole Opry. The acoustic performance took place on the Circle All Access Facebook and YouTube.

  • Blanck Mass played a live improv techno jam featuring new music on Facebook on Saturday, March 21 at 4pm ET.

  • Jewel put on a concert on Saturday, March 21 at 8pm ET, dubbed Live From San Quarantine: A Livestream Concert. It streamed on Instagram and Facebook, and benefitted families in need in her #JewelNeverBroken program in the Inspiring Children Foundation.

  • Whitney went to Instagram Live on Saturday, March 21 at 9pm ET to “play some songs/just hang this Saturday night for all those who are practicing distance.”

  • Beth Behrs hosted a live virtual dance party on Instagram at 11:30am ET (8:30am PT) on Friday, March 20.

  • In February, blues musicians gathered in New York to celebrate the music of B.B. King. Now, that all-star blues show, The Thrill Is Gone: A Tribute to B.B. King, was livestreamed for free on the Relix Channel on Friday, March 20 at 8pm ET.

  • Justin Quiles did a live performance and Q&A on Friday, March 20 at 5pm ET.

  • The Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy did an Instagram Live on Friday, March 20.

  • Hayley Kiyoko did an Instagram Live on Thursday, March 19 at 3:30pm ET (12:30pm PT).

  • The Luck Reunion, the annual festival held in Willie Nelson’s backyard, presented “‘Til Further Notice.” The live, free event featured call-in sets, and fans could tune in on Twitch, Facebook, or the Luck Reunion website anywhere between 7-midnight ET Thursday, March 19.

  • Kelsea Ballerini hosted an album countdown live stream on Instagram on Thursday, March 19 at 10pm ET.

  • Ally Brooke took over iHeartRadio's Instagram Live with a dance tutorial on Thursday, March 19 at 3pm ET (12pm PT).

  • Brad Paisley performed a show on Facebook Live on Thursday, March 19.

  • Rudy Mancuso went live on YouTube on Thursday, March 19 to play some piano.

  • Kelly Clarkson did a cover of Mariah Carey’s song “Vanishing” and posted it to IGTV.

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber performed a piano version of "All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera, which evenutally led to Lin-Manuel Miranda sharing a piano performance of "Everything's Alright" from Jesus Christ Superstar. Miranda then challenged Webber to offer up another performance.

  • Norah Jones performed her rendition of Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience” on Twitter to help raise donations for organizations helping those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Lizzo hosted a group meditation on Instagram, which is now available via IGTV.

  • Hunter Hayes performed a live show from a warehouse in Nashville, which is now available on YouTube.

  • Gal Gadot gathered artists and actors for a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine," which she posted on Instagram.

  • The British Music Embassy hosted a one-off concert to help support U.K. acts that were attending SXSW, and it was available on the What Hi-Fi? YouTube channel.

  • Code Orange performed to an empty Roxian Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA and livestreamed it via Twitch.

  • The Dropkick Murphys livestreamed their St. Patrick's Day show from Boston.

  • Bruce Springsteen announced that his Live In Hyde Park show is available now in its entirety on YouTube and Apple Music.

  • Alejandro Sanz and Juanes did a special live stream from Art House Miami Studio featuring a Q&A and jam session.

  • Joyce DiDonato and Piotr Beczala livestreamed a 90-minute performance of Massenet’s Werther from DiDonato's living room.

  • Yungblud hosted a YouTube concert with appearances by Machine Gun Kelly, Bella Thorne, and more.

  • Jon Cleary did a Q&A and performance from FHQ World Headquarters.

  • Bono hopped on Facebook to preview a new song.
