Jethro Tull to Reissue 'A' as Box Set for 40th Anniversary

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of A, Jethro Tull is reissuing the album as a 3CD/3DVD box set.

Released in 1980, A was originally intended to be a solo album by frontman Ian Anderson. Because of this, the studio tapes were marked "A" for Anderson, leading to the album's one-letter title. Once the album was complete, the group’s label Chrysalis insisted that it be credited to Jethro Tull, despite the new lineup of Anderson, Martin Barre, Dave Pegg, and Mark Craney.

A (A La Mode) 40th Anniversary Edition will include the original album, newly mixed by producer Steven Wilson, unreleased tracks, and a flat transfer of the original master recording. The box set will also include the band’s full August 1980 concert at L.A. Sports Arena, a DVD of the “Slipstream” video, and a book compiling the history of the album, track-by-track annotations, rare photographs, and more.

The reissue is due out Apr. 16 and is available for pre-order now.
