Judas Priest Announce 2019 "Firepower" Tour

Heavy metal band Judas Priest will kick off their 50th anniversary year with a North American tour in 2019.

The tour will support their 18th studio album release, "Firepower." The album is the band's highest-charting album ever in the United States, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 following its release.

Judas Priest released the following statement:

"Metal maniacs, Judas Priest is roaring back to the USA for one more blast of Firepower! Firepower 2019 charges forth with new first time performances born out of Firepower, as well as fresh classic cuts across the decades from the Priest world metalsphere. Our visual stage set and light show will be scorching a unique, hot, fresh vibe -- mixing in headline festivals, as well as the in-your-face venue close-ups. We can't wait to reunite and reignite our maniacs ... the Priest is back!"

Guitarist Glenn Tipton will unfortunately not be touring with the rest of his bandmates. The band annouced earlier this year Tipton's Parkinson's diagnosis. Producer Andy Sneap has be playing guitar in his spot on recent tours.
