Justin Timberlake to Be Honored with Songwriters Hall of Fame's Icon Award

Justin Timberlake will be honored next month by the Songwriters Hall of Fame. On June 13 at the organization’s 50th annual induction ceremony at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel, Timberlake will receive the Contemporary Icon Award.

According to the organization, the Contemporary Icon Award “has been initiated in order to celebrate a songwriter-artist who has attained an iconic status in pop culture.” The only previous recipient of the honor was Lady Gaga in 2015.

Timberlake has sold over 32 million albums worldwide and received 10 Grammy awards. Additionally, he has had eight Number One Billboard hits that were all either written or co-written by Timberlake, including “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” and "SexyBack.”

The official 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees are Dallas Austin, Missy Elliott, Tom T. Hall, John Prine, Jack Tempchin, and Yusuf, aka Cat Stevens.
