King Princess Shares Tour Dates, Music Video, and Details of Next Album

We're not sure if the start of Pride Month has anything to do with it, but openly gay and genderqueer pop star King Princess has just gifted fans a ton of new info.

The "1950" singer has announced her third studio album, Girl Violence, as well as autumn tour dates to support the LP. To get fans hyped about the drop, she's released a music video for the lead single, "RIP KP."

King Princess previously performed the song on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Directed by Wazza Fu (credited as "Your Mom" in the project), the music video for "RIP KP" is a raunchy romp that sees King Princess get into wacky shenanigans at a strip clip. "If you want it on the floor, you can have it like that
Up against the door, you can have it like that," Mikaela Straus wails in the track's chorus.

According to Pitchfork, King Princess made her new album with the help of producers Jacob Portrait and Aire Atlantica. Girl Violence will also include a song featuring Idles’ Joe Talbot. Genius reports the LP will have a total of 13 tracks, and is expected to drop September 12.

As for the fall tour, the trek will officially start October 10 at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. She'll then hit up North American cities like Nashville, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles before flying over to Europe for more dates. After some shows in Dublin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and more, King Princess will wrap things up with a December 17 concert in Berlin. You can find tickets for the tour here.

Before wiping her socials clean and teasing a new album, King Princess shared a cover of Steely Dan's Can’t Buy a Thrill classic “Dirty Work.” The rendition was created last year, for the third season of HBO Max's Hacks.
