Live365 Makes Juneteenth an Official Company Holiday

Following in the footsteps of Twitter and Square, Live365 has made Juneteenth (June 19) an official company holiday in the U.S.

On June 19, 1865, two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, the last remaining enslaved African Americans were freed, marking the end of traditional slavery in America. As a company, it is crucial that we take the day to celebrate as well as educate ourselves.

"Observing Juneteenth is a vital step in truly acknowledging the history of the United States," said Justin Ruoff, VP of Operations. "At Live365, we will be using the day to learn more about Black American history and culture, and our hope is that more businesses will do the same."
